For all of you that are using Google Music Manager on a clean installation of Windows XP, make sure that your .NET framework is at least updated to level 3.51. This also assumes that you are have Windows on Service Pack 3 and most other updates are installed.
After spending a lot of time reinstalling Windows XP on an old computer, another story in itself, I tried install Google Music Manger and even though it installed without errors, it would not start afterward. It came up with error something like, “Application configuration is incorrect and Music Manager cannot start, Reinstalling the application might correct the problem.” After reinstalling it three times, the problem was not fixed but I then realized that Windows Update didn’t update the .NET framework.
After running those updates, Music Manger started without any issues and is now working the way it should.
